Privacy Policy

This policy describes the data practices of the static website operated by Decarb Energy Partners LLC ("Decarb") for a general adult audience. The website is globally reachable.

Google Analytics and User Consent

Decarb uses Google Analytics 4 ("Google Analytics") only after you affirmatively select Accept. Before consent, and after you decline, this site does not request the Google Analytics tag or send analytics events. If you accept, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies or similar identifiers and process information about your browser or device, broad location, referrer, page and browser-history views, 90-percent page scrolls, outbound-link clicks, public-document downloads, supported embedded-video engagement, start or submit interactions with compatible forms in the top-level page, and the recognized initial q value on Decarb's search page as the built-in search_term.

Google Analytics form-interaction measurement does not read form-field contents and cannot read the separate cross-origin Brevo newsletter form. A form-submission event does not by itself confirm a completed subscription. Decarb uses the collected information to evaluate aggregate website use, content engagement, calls to action, public-document downloads, error-page recovery, and broad interaction with the optional 404 game. Decarb does not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, cross-site profiling, or automated decisions. Google Signals, advertising personalization, user-provided data collection, and User-ID are disabled.

The site stores only your analytics choice, its purpose and schema version, and an expiration value in first-party browser storage for up to 180 days. That preference is not a user identifier. Use the Website Analytics control at any time to accept, decline, or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops future Decarb analytics events and attempts to remove Analytics cookies that this site can clear; it does not automatically delete data previously collected by Google Analytics.

Analytics Data Minimization

Decarb sends fixed page categories and allowlisted, low-cardinality event values. Manual page views, referrers, and custom search outcome events omit query strings, fragments, typed terms, link text, full outbound URLs, free-form campaign values, exact game scores, and form-field contents; the 404 page uses a fixed location instead of the requested missing path. The deliberate exception is enabled Google Analytics Enhanced Measurement Site Search: after consent, Google Analytics may process the recognized initial q value in its built-in search_term field. Decarb configures URL-query redaction for q and best-effort email-pattern redaction, but these controls do not guarantee removal of names, organizations, confidential phrases, or every form of personal information from a search term. Decarb does not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses, confidential partner information, or other direct identifiers to Google Analytics, and visitors should not enter personal or confidential information in site search.

Provider and User-Initiated Interactions

  • Hosting: GitHub Pages delivers this site. GitHub may receive standard technical request information, such as an Internet Protocol address, browser information, and security logs, under its own service and privacy practices.
  • Fonts: Your browser may request the Inter font from Google Fonts. Google may receive standard technical request information under its own privacy practices.
  • Analytics: After consent, the browser requests the Google tag and sends the minimized analytics information described above to Google. Google states that Analytics uses Internet Protocol addresses at collection to derive broad location and discards those addresses before logging. This is not a claim that no Internet Protocol processing occurs. See Google's business-data privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Site search: Pagefind is served with Decarb's static website and searches a prebuilt index in your browser; Decarb does not operate a Pagefind search-query server. The current term can appear in the search.html?q= address and your browser history. If you accepted Analytics, enabled Enhanced Measurement may process the recognized initial term as described above. Google Search receives the exact site:www.decarbenergypartners.com [SEARCH TERM] query only if you select Search on Google; Google then handles that request under its own practices.
  • Newsletter: The embedded newsletter form is an operationally separate Brevo-hosted workflow. If you choose to use it, the form requests an email address, first name, and last name for newsletter subscription. The workflow provides subscription confirmation and unsubscribe controls. Brevo form and provider practices govern that submission.
  • Email: A mailto: link opens your chosen email application. If you send a message, Decarb receives the contact information and content you choose to provide, and Microsoft provides Decarb's email infrastructure.
  • External links: Other websites process information under their own policies after you choose to follow a link.

Retention, Deletion, Providers, and Transfers

Decarb configures the Google Analytics property with a 14-month event-data and user-data retention setting and with reset-on-new-activity disabled. Google Analytics standard aggregated reports and provider records may follow separate service behavior. The browser consent preference expires after no more than 180 days. Records created through GitHub, Google, Brevo, Microsoft, or an external website are also handled under the relevant provider's retention, deletion, subprocessor, and international-transfer practices.

To ask about Decarb's analytics practices or an applicable access or deletion request, use the contact information below. Decarb may need information sufficient to evaluate the request, and some browser analytics data may not be reasonably linkable to a named person. A consent withdrawal is prospective and is separate from a request concerning previously collected data.

User Choices and Tracking Signals

Analytics remains off unless you select Accept Analytics. Accept and Decline are equally available, and you may reopen Analytics Choices to withdraw or change your selection. Declining or leaving Analytics unset prevents the Google tag and its site-search term event from being sent; it does not disable browser-side Pagefind or the explicit Google Search fallback. You may also block browser storage or the Google tag through browser controls, although doing so may prevent the site from retaining your choice. The site does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, and no advertising-consent flow is enabled. Separate providers may respond to browser privacy signals under their own practices.

You may avoid the Brevo newsletter workflow and contact Decarb by email instead. Newsletter messages provide confirmation and an unsubscribe route. Declining analytics does not limit website navigation, browser-side site search, the explicit Google Search fallback, the newsletter form, email links, or the optional 404 game.

Adult Audience

This site is intended for adults in the United States and is not directed to children or anyone under 18. Do not use the newsletter form or send personal information if you are under 18.

Changes and Contact

Decarb will revise this notice and its effective date if the website's data practices materially change.
